Our mission

Biochar Club is a "growing community" of biochar producers, land managers, farmers, foresters and climate innovators working together to use there biomass to produce biochar and create a lasting impact.

Every M-Kiln comes with Biochar Club membership. Your membership lets you join a community that transforms biomass into valuable biochar, improves soils, reduces wildfire risk and permanently removes carbon from the atmosphere.

We are committed to making access to biochar affordable to members enabling communities to improve crop yields prevent wildfires etc. We do this through internal research and development, licensing technologies such as our patent pending M-Kiln and Kiln OS to make biochar production as simple as possible. We use climate finance to reduce cost to members and provide them with additional income.

Designed to be safe, as easy to use as a microwave, needing minimal training or maintenance, able to fit into our members businesses and go to biomass rather than the other way round, yet affordable enough to be accessible.

The M-Kiln™ combines  3,000-year-old flame cap pyrolysis, advanced materials, insulation, airflow control and a secondary combustion chamber to deliver premium biochar.

Our integrated KilnOS™ monitors 10,000 data points an hour to ensure consistency, feeding back to operators via a handheld tablet. Dollar for dollar, we believe the M-Kiln™ is one of the most efficient pyrolysis units on the planet.

All kilns are built on the same core technologies:

A secondary burn chamber above the flame burns at high temperature, reducing smoke and particulates. A network of exhaust holes slows release to achieve near-zero visible emissions.

The M-Kiln was design for use in remote locations requiring minimum maintance familar to agricultural and forestry operators.

The M-Kiln is made with specialist 253ma steel designed for high-temperature service above 1,150°C (2,100°F).

An enclosed flame-cap kiln establishes gasification and clean combustion at the surface of the flame directly above the feedstock.

The M-Kiln™ is pre-validated by

Isometric logo .png

Isometric is a carbon-removal certification platform and registry. It develops scientific protocols, reviews projects, tracks carbon removals, and issues verified carbon-removal credits. Through KilnOs we provide the data to Isometric that helps ensure that every tonne of carbon claimed is backed by measurable data, complete traceability, and a clear chain of evidence from production to application.

KilnOS™

Taking 10,000 measurements per hour, KilnOS™ enables users to manage their feedstock input and get consistent output standards without gaining a PhD.

Built-in sensors record temperature and duration for consistent results. Biochar Club captures real time data on feedstock type and temperature of the load.

Using tablet-based instructions and SMS messages with a near real time connection to the cloud, KilnOS™ ensures every batch of biochar is monitored for quality and consistency.

Minimising pyrolysis time making it the most efficient use of members resource.

What does Inernite Gold mean?

Inertinite is the most stable form of carbon storage found in nature, known for its resilience over geological time periods. Fusinite, have created a special certification for biochar products that meet the highest standards of carbon stability: the Inertinite Gold Certificate.

Products containing over 95% inertinite content qualify for this prestigious certification. Inertinite-rich biochar, identified through a combination of optical microscopy, random reflectance analysis, is considered the most permanent form of carbon storage, making it highly sought after in the voluntary carbon market.
