Welcome to the Biochar Club™
Biochar: a wonderous material formed by heating biomass (plants and trees) at high temperatures in the absence (or near absence) of oxygen.
Biochar has the power to purify water, reduce pollution, improve crop yields, store energy, improve the strength of roads and buildings, capture carbon and restore life to damaged land. Its potential to improve our planet is understood through world-class research and practical application.
Yet although known about for thousands of years, biochar has been hidden in academic research and large-scale projects, often dependent on logistics to deliver biomass to the production site. Technically proven, but expensive and limited in availability, biochar has felt like a painting in a museum. Once you’d seen it you were in awe but couldn’t take it home.
Biochar should not be in a laboratory or a museum, it belongs in working communities, produced where the feedstock lies, by the people that can benefit from it.
Areas we work in
Biochar Club™
Biochar Club™ was formed to solve these challenges, to drive down cost and increase availability, enabling our Members to make their own, to the highest standards, using their own biomass, easily and at low cost compared to other technologies. When we went to market to enable this vision, we found few equipment providers, high costs and small throughputs, so we designed our own technology from scratch, the M-Kiln™.
Designed to be safe, as easy to use as an air-fryer, needing minimal training and maintenance, no specialist technicians, able to fit into our members core business rather than redefining it, mobile to go to the biomass rather than the other way around, and at a low enough cost to make it accessible. These were our primary use case considerations.
Members keep and utilise the biochar they produce, to reduce fire risk, restore life to damaged land, improve crop yields, and avoid harmful emissions.
For that they need consistent, predictable, high quality biochar to our Members wherever they may be. The answer of course was an app: integrated, simple, resilient KilnOS™.
KilnOS™
Taking 10,000 measurements per hour, KilnOS™ enables users to manage their feedstock input and get consistent output standards without gaining a PhD. Using tablet-based instructions and SMS messages with a near real time connection to the cloud, KilnOS™ ensures every batch of biochar is monitored for quality and consistency.
And with that technology came the power to measure and reward our Members for their achievements with the only performance-based reward system in the industry CharMiles™. With a simple message of ‘Free Kilns or your money back’ CharMiles™ offers Members who hit tier levels to get a full refund of the original cost of their M-Kiln™ or to receive another kiln for free. Biochar Club™ is more than just rewriting the biochar industry, we invite arborists, landowners and growers to join us in delivering real change in our communities and environment. But these classical biochar users are not the only opportunities to do more, that is why we have focussed our launch on three undeveloped segments; wildfire fuel reduction, disaster debris management and the diversion of food waste from landfill to composting.
Areas we work in

Farming &
Forestry
For growers, foresters and landscapers, biochar made from residues and trimmings can improve soil structure, holds moisture, and boosts microbial life. Growers see healthier crops, improved yields, and less reliance on synthetic fertilizers.
Build resilience from the ground up.

Integrating biochar made from difficult to manage ‘overs’ accelerates production cycles, reduces emissions and increases nitrogen retention creating a premium soil conditioner with higher performance and lower emissions.
Compost & Circular
Soil Systems
Supercharge compost with stable carbon.

Disaster Management
From risk to resilience.
Every year 3-4 million acres of forest are cleared as aprt of wildfire removal programmes, the vast majority is burnt in situ creating huge amounts of smoke and GHG emissions as well as leaving huge scar burns that deplete soil biology. By using on hill pyrolysis to create biochar burnt soil structure can be regenerated, moisture levels increased, and microbial life boosted.
From debris to regeneration.
Natural disasters such as hurricanes or floods create huge volumes of debris and can wash away a farmers soil destroying incomes and food production potential. BY converting recovered biomass (fallen trees and vegetation) into soil enhancing biochar, communities can sped their recovery and farms can be assisted in returning to production, as well as enhancing erosion control, and replanting programmes keeping valuable carbon in the ground instead of releasing GHG’s to the atmosphere.

Our
Patent pending
M-Kiln™
pyrolysis
technology
The Biochar Club licenses its unique technology to members, then reinvests funds to help communities purchase additional equipment. The more areas cleared, the more wildfire risk reduction can be achieved — creating a multiplying effect.
The kilns combine thew principles of 3,000-year-old flame cap pyrolysis with a secondary combustion chamber, advanced materials, modern insulation and airflow control to create dollar for dollar one of the most efficient units on the planet.

Membership
Membership is open to all and includes:
· Our unique M-kiln 7, 10, 14, or 21 cubic yard sizes
· Regional training for up to four community leads
· A quench pool for safe processing
· A starter safety kit
Points are tracked once training is complete and KilnOS is activated. Carbon credits are bundled and sold collectively to maximize value for members.
For every ton of verified biochar you produce earns 1 CharMile point. CharMiles™ is Club Biochar’s member reward program — a practical, no-nonsense way to recognise the people doing the real work of turning waste into worth.
